This is the fun part, looking for your dream home. You have a dream of what you want and made your must haves and wish lists, now it's time to make it happen.
Your real estate agent or you (there are tons of listings online) will find homes for you to see. When you find that dream home your agent will submit your offer to the seller. When the offer is accepted a contract will be completed and sent to Team Lacey Mortgage where it will be immediately processed and submitted to underwriting.
Find Your Dream Home
A home appraisal is done by an unbiased third party that sets the value of the home you want to purchase. This is required by all mortgage lenders to ensure that the loan is substantiated by the house value.
The appraiser will determine the value of the home based on the condition of the home, location and comps in the neighborhood.
Once the appraisal is completed and the amount of the loan is equal or less than the value of the home, the closing can commence.
You're almost there! The close is where you will sign all the state and mortgage company required documents and pay the closing costs.
The documents will be signed either at a lawyer's office or a title company. Besides explaining and having you sign documents the title company's responsibility is to verify that the property you are purchasing is free for you to purchase. The title company is working for you, so you can choose any title company you want.
